Jessica Lucich

Jessica is a Special Counsel at Kain Lawyers, in the firm’s investment funds practice. Her broad Australian and international experience allows her to help clients reach their commercial goals within Australia’s complex framework of financial services and corporations regulations.

Jessica is at the forefront of product innovation in Australia, leading the design and structuring of many of the market’s most innovative listed investment products. Her experience spans actively managed exchange-traded funds (ETFs), dual-access and cross-listed funds, and structured products. She is known for delivering strategic, commercially focused advice across the full fund lifecycle, from establishment and structuring through to regulatory compliance and distribution.

An active contributor to industry development, Jessica is a member of the Financial Services Council working group and the Banking and Financial Services Law Association Future Leaders Committee. She is widely regarded as a leading authority in the funds and ETF space.

Jessica’s experience includes advising:

• Leading global and domestic asset managers, including J.P. Morgan, Macquarie Bank, BlackRock, Russell Investments, BetaShares, Platinum Asset Management, Magellan Financial Group and VanEck, on the structuring, launch and distribution of actively managed ETFs in Australia;
• Global and domestic asset managers and issuers on the design and structuring of a broad suite of innovative listed investment products, including actively managed ETFs, gold bullion securities, bitcoin and digital asset products;
• Colonial First State on the establishment of its managed accounts platform and the internalisation of its responsible entity capability;
• Coinbase Global, Inc. and others on digital asset platforms, products and services; and
• Global fund managers and financial institutions on numerous domestic and cross-border financial services and regulatory matters, including establishing Australian operations, licensing, structuring and distribution of financial products.
