Transaction specialists Kain Lawyers is delighted to announce the appointment of three highly experienced Directors as part of its ongoing national growth. This strategic move underscores Kain’s commitment to meet the growing demand for its services in Australia’s midmarket.
David Mitchell, Brendan Ivers, and Jeremy Collins will join Kain Lawyers as Directors in Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne respectively, with each bringing a wealth of transactional experience.
David Mitchell, previously from PwC, brings a focus on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and private equity (PE) transactions, having previously advised on deals including Fortitude Investment Partners’ sale of Better Medical to Livingbridge; the sell down of Murray River Land and Ulupna Pastoral Co to ROC Partners; and Global Endowment Management’s sale of Cowal Agriculture to Macquarie Asset Management. With insights garnered from his experience in private practice as well as general counsel and company secretary for a listed funds management company, David will advise on private equity, venture capital, and real asset investments, together with bolt-on acquisitions and exits.
For more than a decade, Brendan Ivers, formerly with Hamilton Locke, has been consistently recognised by Chambers Asia Pacific Guide as one of Australia’s leading investment fund and financial services lawyers. Brendan has previously advised many of Australia’s leading private equity, venture capital, private credit, and property and real asset fund managers on fund structuring and investment. His expertise further enhances Kain’s ability to service Australia’s fund management community on capital raising and deployment.
Jeremy Collins, previously with Gadens, has deep experience advising on property transactions, including having previously advised ISPT on both the acquisition of 50% of NAB’s head office at 405 Burke Street, Melbourne, and the acquisition of 50% of the commercial and retail component of 447 Collins Street, Melbourne. Jeremy’s experience with leading firms in Melbourne and London and inhouse with one of Australia’s largest property fund managers, strengthens Kain’s growing capability in property and real asset transactions.
