The alliance creates a comprehensive Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) platform serving the MedTech industry from initial concept through to large-scale production.

The strategic alliance transaction establishes a seamless pathway for MedTech clients, enabling them to leverage Planet Innovation’s innovation, design, and early-stage manufacturing capabilities in Australia and the United States before transitioning to Meiban’s advanced, automated mass-manufacturing operations across Southeast Asia.

Planet Innovation, established in 2009, has built a reputation as a leading MedTech innovator with over 300 professionals specialising in healthcare solutions, advanced engineering, and commercial strategy. Beyond product design and engineering, the company operates flexible manufacturing facilities designed to support early market entry and validation.

Kain Lawyers advises electrical services provider the Vertex Group on sale to Tasmea Limited

Kain Lawyers is proud to have advised electrical services provider the Vertex Group on its sale to Tasmea Limited (ASX: TEA).

Tasmea completed a Share Purchase Agreement to acquire 100% of the issued capital in the Vertex Group, comprising Vertex Power & Process Pty Ltd (Vertex) and VTX Group Services Pty Ltd (VTX).

Vertex specialises in high voltage services to utilities, mining, and renewables clients across regional and remote areas of Western NSW, Victoria, and South Australia. The business supports long-term electricity transmission, mining and renewable energy clients.  VTX provides end-to-end pumping and portable power solutions to the mining, agriculture, industrial, and local council sectors across Western NSW, Victoria, and South Australia.

The round was led by Melbourne-based venture capital firm Co:Act Capital, alongside other notable backers, reflecting strong momentum behind the company’s innovative approach to dining demand.

Launched in 2017, EatClub helps restaurants boost traffic during off-peak hours by enabling them to share limited, time-sensitive offers in real time, bringing diners through the door when it matters most.

Kain Lawyers is proud to have advised York St Brands on its latest funding round. This investment round was led by investment manager iPartners and will support the growth of the groups’ brand portfolio together with its expansion into the UK market.

York St Brands was established by the merger of BOOST LAB and tbh Skincare. Its portfolio currently includes acne-focused tbh Skincare and science-backed serum brand BOOST LAB. This is the third investment round that Kain Lawyers has advised York St Brands on, having also advised BOOST LAB on its merger with tbh Skincare to create York St Brands.

Metal Powder Works Inc acquires K-TIG Limited (ASX:KTG)

Kain Lawyers is pleased to have advised US-based Metal Powder Works Inc. and its shareholders on the sale of Metal Powder Works Inc to K-TIG Limited (ASX:KTG).  Metal Powder Works Inc. specialises in the production of high-quality metal powders for additive manufacturing and other advanced applications.  As part of the transaction, K-TIG Limited changed its name to Metal Powder Works Limited (ASX:MPW) and was reinstated to quotation on the ASX. MPW commenced trading on the ASX on 11 March 2025 following completion of its capital raising of $10m.
