Richard has extensive experience advising on competition and consumer law. He brings 20 years of expertise across merger clearances, strategic advisory work, and supporting clients through complex regulatory and transactional environments.
Richard brings deep expertise in guiding transactions through the ACCC merger clearance and authorisation processes, leveraging a strong understanding of the ACCC’s approach and market dynamics to deliver practical, outcome-focused results aligned with clients’ business objectives.
Richard holds first class Honours degrees in both Law and Economics from Victoria University of Wellington, as well as a Master of Laws from the University of Chicago.
Richard’s recent competition and regulatory experience includes advising:

- BGC on the acquisition of its cementitious business by Cement Australia, Holcim, HMI and Adbri.
